Security Officer within the Swedish Armed Forces
As a Security Officer in the Swedish Armed Forces and the Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS), you play an important role in a successful team within an agency that is experiencing strong growth. You will have the opportunity to train during working hours, generous working time agreements, parental salary, and up to seven weeks of vacation per year. The position will be at FMTIS, Northern Implementation Unit (GE Norr) with the workplace in Boden. You belong to GE Norr and are part of the unit's management, which operates from Boden. FMTIS has a presence throughout the country where the Armed Forces conduct operations and is represented in each of the Armed Forces' four regions by a regional implementation unit GE.
Northern Implementation Unit
FMTIS has four implementation units in Sweden that maintain the Armed Forces' command systems in the IT and telecommunications area. The Northern Implementation Unit is one of them. GE Norr has a geographical spread that largely covers Norrland and is staffed by both military and civilian personnel. GE Norr consists of several Implementation Departments (GA) spread across the region's area of responsibility.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the security service within the unit
- Lead and coordinate the security personnel within the unit
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of training for the unit's personnel regarding security service
- Lead and coordinate self-control (internal control of security protection) within the unit
- Together with other HL security, support the unit's departments in conducting security assessments
- Participate in training and exercises
- Conduct cooperation with other actors within the unit's geographical area
- Participate in staff work with other functional representatives in the unit's staff
- Be prepared to support in information security and signal protection
- Be prepared to support with other tasks as needed
You will be one of two HL SÄK in the unit staff, which among other things has the task of ensuring that the security protection that the agency is obliged to follow according to the security protection law, security protection regulation, and the Armed Forces' regulations is maintained. The work involves travel within the country, war placement at FMTIS, and possible international service.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Previous service in a position suitable for the role in the Armed Forces or service in a security organization at another agency or company
Personal Characteristics
You find it easy to collaborate with others and create and maintain trust both internally and externally. You take initiative and can independently drive the unit's work towards goals. You adapt easily and are flexible and attentive. It is important that you have analytical and structured abilities. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS
- KHS (Course for Security Officers) 2-week course at FM UndSäkC
- Security training and signal protection training within the Armed Forces or equivalent civilian training
- Knowledge of the security protection law, security protection regulation, and corresponding legislation
- Previous experience in security assessments of personnel
Other
Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the agency.
